Terms of service
Terms for using Valar, the subcontractor document tracking product from Code & Segments.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Valar, a product of Code & Segments, the trading name of Códigos & Segmentos Unipessoal, LDA ("we", "us"). By accessing or using getvalar.work, the Valar application, or secure document-request pages (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
Valar helps organisations collect, review, and track documents they require from subcontractors. You define what you require. Subcontractors upload from a secure link. Your team reviews. Valar tracks expiry dates and can send reminders.
The features available may depend on the pilot or plan your organisation is on.
Valar does not determine whether a subcontractor, document, or organisation complies with any law, regulation, licence, contract, or industry standard. Labels such as current, expiring soon, or compliant are operational statuses of the requirements you configured. They are not legal advice or a determination of statutory compliance.
3. User accounts
To use the application you must create an account for your organisation. You are responsible for keeping credentials confidential and for activity under that account. People using Valar must be at least 18 years old. Valar is offered for business use, not for personal or household use.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that disrupts, damages, or impairs it. You are responsible for:
- the accuracy of the data you enter
- which documents you require and whether a submission is acceptable
- having a lawful reason to collect and store that information
- the people you invite to upload documents
5. Intellectual property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality remain the property of Code & Segments and its licensors. They are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws in Portugal and elsewhere. You keep ownership of the documents and records you submit. You grant us a licence to host and process them only to provide the Service.
6. Termination
We may suspend or end your account if you breach these Terms. After termination, your right to use the Service stops. You may ask us to delete your organisation's account.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Code & Segments and its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or inability to use it, even if we have been told such damages are possible.
8. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will try to give at least 30 days' notice before it takes effect. What counts as material is for us to decide. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
